Job Summary We are seeking an experienced Data Analyst and Pharmacy Pricing Specialist to. As a key member of our Pharmacy Pricing and Underwriting team, you will be responsible for undertaking monetary modeling through accumulating and studying facts to make underwriting and pricing suggestions. Additionally, this function will lead the facts analytics, collaborate with internal business partners to expand financial forecast models and supporting documentation, and communicate the end result of such analysis to internal management.
Key Responsibilities Queries, reviews, and analyzes data and prepares analytics, including pricing and financial models leveraging advanced bolthires Excel, bolthires Access, SQL techniques, for opportunities obtained from pharmacy benefit managers, health plans, and/or healthcare consultants. Utilizes advanced-level ability bolthires Excel to create and maintain advanced forecasting and underwriting models (for example: developing a pivot table, developing Macros, using VLOOKUP, INDEX MATCH, SUMIFS, Troubleshooting Formula Errors, and Formula Auditing).
Utilizes intermediate-level ability of bolthires Access, SAS, and SQL to query and analyze large and complex data sets. (For example: developing parameter and action queries, joining tables, developing cross-tab queries, and using Macros to provide user interaction and automate tasks). Responsible for tracking, analysis, reporting, automation efforts, and advice of process upgrades in order to guide and enhance current pricing mechanisms. Identifies and solves pricing issues by performing analysis that involves retrieving and studying both internal data and data obtained from a third party.
Analyzes data and sets of data so you become responsible for the results portrayed through that analysis. Utilizes standard operating procedures to analyze and respond to inquiries from internal business partners regarding pricing for various lines of business, including retail, specialty, immunizations, and clinics. Provides compensation rate suggestions based on complex pricing models for multimillion-dollar opportunities. Communicates and collaborates with business partners (at all levels of the organization) in different functional areas, including finance, reporting, operations, business development, and sales.
Presents pricing concept suggestions, data analysis, and financial models to management and leadership on a regular basis. Prepares Senior-level executive documentation of pricing concept financial metric suggestions (Executive Governance Memos). Essential Qualifications To be successful in this role, you will need: A Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Math, Business, Actuarial Science, or Pharmacoeconomics, OR High School Diploma/GED and at least three years of experience in Pharmacy Benefit Management (PBM), Contracting, Finance, Account Management, or Pricing; or any combination of education and experience, which could provide an equal background.
Knowledge and understanding of data, business metrics, and operational processes. Strong critical thinking skills and experience with reading and reporting data in order to identify issues, trends, or exceptions to drive development of results and discover solutions. Ability to challenge results, address ambiguity, solve problems, make decisions, see trends/patterns within data sets, perceive root causes. Excellent verbal and written communication skills essential to present records to executives and leaders throughout the organization.
Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-project concurrent assignments while meeting deadlines with a high-quality product. Experience providing customer service to internal and external clients, including meeting high-quality standards. Intermediate-level ability in bolthires PowerPoint (for example: applying a theme, formatting individual spacing, inserting a picture, changing slide layout and theme colors, adding transitions, customizing slide numbers, changing chart style and/or formatting font).
Intermediate-level ability in bolthires Excel (for example: using SUM function, inserting borders, inserting column width, inserting charts, using text wrap, sorting, inserting headers and footers and/or print scaling). Intermediate-level ability in bolthires Word (for example: inserting headers, page breaks, page numbers, and tables and/or adjusting table columns). Willing to travel up to 10% of the time for business purposes (within state and out of state). Preferred Qualifications While not required, the following qualifications are preferred: Advanced-level ability in bolthires Excel, bolthires Access, SQL, and SAS.
Experience with data analytics and financial modeling. Knowledge of pharmacy benefit management and contracting. Experience working in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities and deadlines.
