Job Summary We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Data Entry Specialist to on an overnight shift. As a Data Entry Specialist, you will be responsible for entering patient, client, billing, and test information into our Laboratory Information System, ensuring accuracy and compliance with HIPAA regulations and standards. You will also have the opportunity to cross-train in accessioning, which involves accurately identifying, sorting, and labeling specimens for testing. Key Responsibilities Enter patient, client, billing, and test information into the Laboratory Information System with high accuracy and attention to detail Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and standards, maintaining the confidentiality and integrity of patient information Answer and direct incoming client calls, providing excellent customer service and support Cross-train in accessioning, which involves accurately identifying, sorting, and labeling specimens for testing Work collaboratively with the laboratory team to ensure the smooth operation of laboratory services Maintain a high level of productivity, meeting performance standards and deadlines Essential Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent required Excellent computer skills, with the ability to type 8,000 keystrokes/hour High degree of attention to detail, with excellent organizational and time management skills Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with a strong focus on quality and accuracy Excellent communication and customer service skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with the laboratory team Preferred Qualifications Previous experience in data entry or a related field, with a strong understanding of laboratory operations and procedures Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and standards, with experience in maintaining confidentiality and integrity of patient information Experience with Laboratory Information Systems, with the ability to learn and adapt to new systems and technologies Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and make sound decisions
