Job Summary As a Part-Time Statistics Analyst I, you'll be responsible for ensuring the accuracy of sports data on our various platforms. You'll work with automated data feeds and manual data entry to guarantee the delivery of precise, timely, and insightful sports information.
You'll also assist in transforming data into compelling storylines, identifying key statistical events that help explain why a team won or lost. Key Responsibilities * Ensure sports data disseminated by arenaflex is accurate, timely, and insightful * Work individually and in teams to deliver precise detailed breakdowns, clock-and-score, and other measurements and data in real-time to power a multitude of arenaflex products and productions * Create and maintain a working knowledge of arenaflex's role in fueling digital products and television productions * Review the results of your own work and that of others; perform with a consistently high level of quality * Contribute to production, projects, and initiatives across the newsroom, and assist newsroom leaders who are coordinating full- and part-time staff * Anticipate potential issues, both daily and long-term, and propose possible solutions.
Communicate rapidly and clearly with colleagues on these issues * Play a proactive role in working with colleagues to create or refine production processes * Be an active participant in team and division meetings * Seek and respond to feedback on private performance * Remain informed about current office policies and procedures Required Capabilities * Working knowledge of teams, players, and the rules of various sports * Full-time availability, which will include evenings (only), weekends, and holidays * Ability to quickly learn production processes that produce or maintain sports data that drives arenaflex's digital and television products * Capacity to achieve a high level of content precision in time-sensitive production circumstances * Ability to communicate confidently – verbally and in writing – to production managers and colleagues about production issues and opportunities, often through the chaos of a busy newsroom Preferred Capabilities * 1 year's experience in sports or potentially analytics, ideally in media * Knowledge of how sports data is used in media and for research purposes * Working knowledge of arenaflex products and productions * Experience with bolthires Excel and other Office tools * Experience leading or training a team * Ability to speak and write Spanish * Experience using social media in a business or news environment Required Education * High school diploma or equivalent Preferred Education * Bachelor's degree or equivalent * Additional Details: (e.g.
