Job Overview
The Business Examination group at arenaflex is seeking an experienced Data Scientist, Business Analytics to lead key cross-functional projects for both energy and automotive business units. As a Data Scientist, you will utilize data science tools and methods to drive business process automations, support sales and service processes, and provide actionable insights to business leaders. Key Responsibilities Contribute to all phases of data science projects, from interpreting complex business problems into data science issues to performing data analysis and modeling, and providing solutions to the business Design and maintain complex data pipelines, supporting the team's mission in democratizing data and empowering a data-driven organization, collaborating with Data Analysts, Data Engineers, AI (ML) Specialists, and Product Managers Effectively communicate significant insights to all levels of the organization with varying levels of data science understanding and backgrounds Collaborate closely with leadership, engineering, and other stakeholders to deliver significant business insights Apply various ML, advanced analytics, and visualization techniques to diverse datasets across the organization Essential Qualifications To be successful in this role, you should have: A Bachelor's Degree in a quantitative field (e.g., Data Science, Applied Mathematics, Business Analytics, Operations Research, Statistics, Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Economics, or Engineering) 2+ years of equivalent experience in a quantitative field, with a strong background in data science and analytics Results-oriented mindset with strong business acumen and in-depth data science skills Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels in the organization Proven track record of extracting data insights and building ML models, particularly in business analytics (or related) area Preferred Qualifications Preferred candidates will have: Expertise in SQL and Python, particularly in standard data science libraries and frameworks like pandas, numpy, scikit-learn, Tensorflow/PyTorch, PySpark, etc.
Proficiency in at least one visualization tool, such as Tableau, Streamlit, etc. Experience in data wrangling and analyzing large and complex datasets, structured or unstructured Ability to self-start and work independently in an unstructured environment, as well as navigate (and bring order to) ambiguity, taking a problem from 0 to 1 Excellent problem-framing, problem-solving, and project management skills, as well as the ability to rapidly pivot Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks and projects Skills and Competencies To excel in this role, you should possess: Strong data science skills, including data analysis, modeling, and visualization Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to think critically and creatively Ability to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
