Job Overview We are seeking an experienced Data Scientist to at arenaflex, where you will play a pivotal role in driving the success of our streaming business. As a Data Scientist, you will be responsible for developing and implementing innovative AI strategies to address key business questions, identifying new areas to explore, and collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to unlock opportunities. This is a part-time, remote opportunity, offering you the flexibility to work from anywhere and contribute to the growth and evolution of our streaming services.
Key Responsibilities Support the streaming business with AI and statistical modeling focused on understanding and predicting subscriber behavior, such as churn, upgrade/downgrade, price responsiveness, customer segmentation, survival analysis, experiment design and analysis, and causal inference. Develop and implement innovative AI strategies to address key business questions while identifying new areas to explore. Drive experimentation to evaluate the impact of your models and collaborate intimately with colleagues across the organization to identify and unlock opportunities.
Work closely with different data teams to improve platform capabilities around data modeling, data visualization, experimentation, and data architecture. Present your recommendations to senior executives and stakeholders, providing actionable insights and data-driven decision-making. Essential Qualifications Bachelor's or Graduate degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, Econometrics, or Statistics. 3+ years of experience designing, building, and evaluating practical AI solutions.
Strong coding experience in (at least one) data programming languages like Python/R, with additional experience in scientific libraries like Numpy, Pandas, or equivalent libraries a plus. Proficient in analyzing data and creating ML models using Python (with ML frameworks like TensorFlow, scikit-learn, etc.). Strong foundation in statistical modeling: regression, classification, time series forecasting, causal inference, and other methods. Experience creating interpretable numerical models and solving complex quantitative problems that can be understood by non-technical stakeholders.
Ability to make insights and conclusions from data to inform model development and business decisions. Desire to collaborate with other data scientists, data analysts, and key stakeholders. Good understanding of SQL. Preferred Qualifications Postgraduate degree in a quantitative field. Excellent analytical skills, high level of statistical knowledge. Proven ability to choose the right statistical tools given a data analysis problem. Ability to adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment with changing needs.
Strong interpersonal skills, for both technical and non-technical audiences. Ability to prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously and meet deadlines. Experience with data platforms and applications like Databricks, Jupyter, Snowflake, Airflow, Github. Experience with designing and analyzing A/B testing and other experiment types. Experience thinking strategically to interpret market and consumer data, ideally about a subscription service. Experience with distributed data technologies (Hive, Spark). Experience with NLP and NN models.
