Job Overview
The Director of Data Science and Analytics will be responsible for leading and developing a high-performing data science team, driving business results through data-driven insights, and fostering a culture of experimentation and innovation. Key Responsibilities Lead and develop a high-performing data science team, scaling the team efficiently according to current plans and objectives. Identify and recruit top talent, provide mentorship and training, and define the team's goals and objectives in alignment with the organization's overall strategic direction. Define key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of product features, marketing campaigns, and customer engagement, and identify opportunities for product improvements and efficiency gains through data analysis, experimentation, automation, and technology advancements.
Apply advanced analytics techniques to extract meaningful insights from large datasets, informing product development, marketing strategies, and design improvements. Requirements To be successful in this role, you will need: 3+ years of experience in leading product and customer analytics, experimentation, and insights within top-tier technology organizations, preferably in e-commerce. 3+ years of experience in a managerial role, building and leading data science and analytics teams. A proven track record of delivering successful insights, driving business results, and continuous product improvement through data-driven strategies and experimentation.
Strong proficiency in data analysis, statistical modeling, and data visualization tools (e.g., Python, R/SAS, SQL, Tableau, Power BI). Experience working cross-functionally with teams like Product and Engineering, Marketing, Operations, and Finance. Prior C-level/Executive Board exposure, with experience contributing to and having in-depth conversations with C-level partners. Essential Qualifications In addition to the above requirements, the ideal candidate will possess: A Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field, such as Computer Science, Statistics, or Mathematics.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. A strong business acumen, with the ability to understand business objectives and develop data-driven strategies to achieve them.
