Overview
We are seeking an EXPERIENCED Discovery Paralegal specializing in civil law with a focus on real estate transactions and unlawful detainer actions. - Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive legal research using Westlaw, LexisNexis, and other legal research tools to support civil and unlawful detainer cases
- Manage discovery processes including document review, organization, and production in compliance with court deadlines
- Assist attorneys with drafting pleadings, discovery requests, responses, and legal correspondence related to real estate law and landlord-tenant disputes
- Review and analyze case files, contracts, title reports, and property records to identify relevant information for case development
- Coordinate depositions, interviews, and client meetings while maintaining meticulous case files using iManage or similar document management systems
- Support project management efforts by tracking case progress, deadlines, and court filings to ensure timely completion of all tasks
- Maintain familiarity with UCC law (Uniform Commercial Code), tribal regulations, environmental law considerations, and other relevant legal areas as needed for specific cases
- Experience
- Proven paralegal experience supporting civil litigation with a focus on real estate law or landlord-tenant disputes
- Demonstrated expertise in legal administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, document management, and transcription
- Strong knowledge of legal research platforms including Westlaw and LexisNexis; proficiency in legal writing, drafting contracts, proofreading documents
- Experience with litigation procedures related to unlawful detainer actions and property disputes
- Familiarity with law office management software such as PCLaw or iManage; ability to handle multiple cases efficiently while maintaining attention to detail
- Excellent organizational skills complemented by effective phone etiquette and communication abilities
- Background in conducting interviews and gathering factual information for case development across various legal disciplines including family law, workers’ compensation law, securities law, patent law, tribal law & regulations, immigration law, environmental law or estate planning is a plus but not required
