Key Responsibilities Develop and test software applications, including ongoing refactoring of code and driving continuous improvement in code structure and quality Participate in code reviews and automated testing, ensuring the highest standards of quality and reliability Troubleshoot and remediate code defects, collaborating with cross-functional teams to resolve issues efficiently Enable the deployment, support, and monitoring of software across test, integration, and production environments Automate solutions in test or production environments, leveraging scripting and automation tools to optimize processes Scale applications based on demand projections, ensuring seamless performance and reliability Lead a small team of engineers, providing guidance, mentorship, and technical expertise to drive team success Influence colleagues with innovative ideas and improvements, fostering a culture of experimentation and risk-taking Essential Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field 3+ years of software development experience, with a focus on big data, distributed systems, and cloud computing Strong programming skills in languages such as Java, Python, or Scala Experience with Hadoop, Spark, and related big data technologies Knowledge of data warehousing concepts, financial reporting environments, and distributed systems Strong understanding of SQL, Hive, and PySpark, with experience in optimizing joins and handling large datasets Experience with UNIX shell scripting and automation tools Ability to design and develop advanced data pipelines for batch and real-time data processing Preferred Qualifications Master's degree in Computer Applications or a related field Experience with cloud platforms such as GCP/AWS, building microservices and scalable solutions 3+ years of experience with designing and building solutions using Kafka streams or queues Experience with GitHub/Bitbucket and using bolthires/CD pipelines Knowledge of NoSQL databases such as HBase, Couchbase, or MongoDB Excellent technical and analytical skills, with strong problem-solving abilities Great communication and project management skills, with experience in leading teams and driving technical decisions
