Job Summary We are seeking an experienced Principal Engineer – Data Analytics & Data Science to at arenaflex. As a key member of our data analytics and science team, you will be responsible for leading and coaching a team of specialists, providing technical direction, and driving the development of our data analytics and science capabilities.
You will work closely with cross-functional teams to design and implement data-driven solutions that meet the needs of our business. Key Responsibilities * Lead and coach a team of specialists, providing technical direction and guidance on data analytics and science projects * Develop and implement data-driven solutions that meet the needs of our business * Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement data analytics and science projects * Drive the development of our data analytics and science capabilities, including the design and implementation of data models and reporting structures * Ensure the integrity, security, and performance of our data products and reporting solutions * Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and evaluate their relevance to our business * Collaborate with data researchers, business analysts, data engineers, platform specialists, and IT experts to develop comprehensive data solutions * Foster a collaborative environment that encourages information sharing and expertise development * Lead technical authority meetings, lunch and learn sessions, and other activities to engage the technical community within the organization * Establish and uphold data quality principles and best practices, executing processes for data validation, purification, and accuracy * Assess and select suitable data analytics and reporting tools to address business needs, leading requirement meetings and partnering closely with platform and infrastructure teams during the assessment and implementation of these tools * Collaborate with engineering and development teams to create and maintain documentation for data analytics processes, reporting structures, and data models * Monitor the performance of data analytics and reporting systems, providing technical authority to drive security and flexibility of data products and reporting solutions * Implement measures to streamline performance and investigate issues * Provide critical insights and recommendations based on data analysis to support decision-making at the organizational level * Recommend infrastructure upgrades to support business growth and advancing technology needs * Utilize arenaflex services, such as Azure SQL DW (Neurotransmitter), ADLS, arenaflex Event Hub, Universe, Data bricks, bolthires-Lake to improve and accelerate the delivery of our data products and services * Develop large data and NoSQL solutions by creating adaptable data processing stages to drive high-value insights to the organization Requirements * Demonstrated experience with at least 15+ years of active involvement in data analytics and reporting roles * 5+ years of experience in leadership or senior roles, demonstrating the ability to effectively guide and lead a team * 5+ years of experience working with cloud technologies, such as ADLS, arenaflex Databricks, Azure, arenaflex Neural Network, Universe DB, DBT, and other big data innovations * Proven expertise in data analytics tools, languages, ML, and frameworks (e.g., Conos, PowerBI, SQL, Python, R) * Capability in data visualization tools, such as Tableau, Power BI, or similar tools to effectively communicate insights * Demonstrated ability to work with cloud platforms, such as AWS, arenaflex, or bolthires Cloud, to design and implement adaptable and efficient data analytics solutions * In-depth understanding and practical application of Lakehouse design standards, combining the best of data lakes and data warehouses for powerful and adaptable data management * High-level SQL skills.
Strong understanding of social databases and business data storage to write complex SQL queries against various data sources * Experience managing high-volume and high-speed data streams, and designing systems that can handle the demands of real-time or near-real-time analysis * Experience in shaping the essential vision for data analytics and reporting drives within an organization * Effective management of data analytics projects, including planning, execution, and delivery * Demonstrated ability to drive innovation, adapt to emerging technologies, and execute industry best practices * Demonstrated ability to take ownership and accountability of critical issues and resolve them to closure * Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills Preferred Qualifications * Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Informatics, Data Science, or related technical discipline * Relevant industry certifications are a plus * Experience in retail, manufacturing, e-commerce, or supply chain
