Key Responsibilities
- Teach students in grades K-12 based on their customized learning plans, helping them to grasp math concepts and develop problem-solving skills.
- Assist students with homework completion and provide guidance on math-related assignments.
- Deliver high-quality instruction, adapting to the individual needs and learning styles of each student.
- Participate in paid training to familiarize yourself with Mathnasium's curriculum, teaching strategies, and team teaching methods.
- Work collaboratively with other instructors to ensure a cohesive and effective learning environment.
- Maintain a positive and supportive classroom atmosphere, promoting a love of learning and math.
Essential and Preferred Qualifications
To succeed as a Math Teacher/Tutor at Mathnasium, you will need:
Essential Qualifications:
- Strong math proficiency up to Algebra (proficiency through Geometry and Calculus is preferred).
- Exceptional score on Mathnasium's Math Literacy exam (covering material from 2nd grade and up).
- Availability to work at least 2 weekday shifts (afternoons after 3 pm).
- A clear record on state and national background checks.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience in teaching or tutoring math.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to adapt to different learning styles and student needs.
- Familiarity with Mathnasium's curriculum or similar math education programs.
