Key ResponsibilitiesAs a Mathematics Tutor, your primary responsibilities will include:* Providing one-on-one tutoring and support to students in College Algebra and/or Probability & Statistics courses* Developing and implementing effective tutoring strategies to meet the diverse needs of students* Utilizing a variety of teaching methods and resources to engage students and promote learning* Maintaining accurate records of student progress and tutoring sessions* Collaborating with faculty and staff to ensure seamless support for students* Participating in professional development opportunities to enhance tutoring skills and knowledgeEssential QualificationsTo be considered for this position, you must possess:* An associate degree or a high school diploma with tutoring/teaching experience* Prior teaching or tutoring experience in mathematics, preferably in a college or university setting* Excellent communication, collaboration, customer service, and interpersonal skills* Knowledge of College Algebra and/or Probability & Statistics course content and ability to use modeling techniques when working with students* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities and deadlines* Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilitiesPreferred QualificationsWhile not required, the following qualifications are highly desirable:* Master's degree in mathematics or a related field* Experience working with diverse student populations, including students with disabilities and English language learners* Familiarity with online tutoring platforms and tools* Ability to work independently and as part of a teamSkillsand CompetenciesTo succeed in this role, you will need to possess the following skills and competencies:* Strong mathematical knowledge and problem-solving skills* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage students and promote learning* Ability to adapt to diverse learning styles and needs* Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities* Familiarity with online tutoring platforms and tools* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
