This is an exciting opportunity to work with a dynamic team, develop your skills, and contribute to the growth and success of arenaflex. **Job Summary:** We're looking for a highly motivated and experienced Ocean Freight Specialist to support the growth of ocean volumes and enhance the development of our ocean product. As a key member of our team, you'll work closely with our MD of Ocean to implement strategies that increase volumes, maximize competitiveness, and enhance service quality. Your expertise will be essential in supporting carrier development, pricing, and analyzing carrier service, routings, and performance. **Key Responsibilities:** * Execute strategies to support the growth of ocean volumes and enhance the development of our ocean product * Work closely with the MD of Ocean to develop and implement pricing programs, review volume targets, and develop an ocean strategy that enhances the effectiveness of sales to achieve expectations of account development and yield enhancement * Communicate strategies, market conditions, and direction to internal and external stakeholders, including sales and operations teams, global trade lane teams, and customers * Conduct regular service reviews to ensure agreed-upon KPIs are being met or exceeded * Assist in gathering, analyzing, and reporting information regarding performance and competitive activity * Work with the MD of Ocean and regional ocean management team to promote the ocean product and support sales and operations as needed * Manage annual budget, control, monitor, and report results on a regular basis to achieve budget targets * Collaborate with marketing to develop external and internal communications specific to the ocean product **Essential Qualifications:** * Bachelor's degree or equivalent * At least 8 years of experience in the international freight forwarding industry, including direct ocean experience in working with ocean contracts, negotiating ocean rates, quoting ocean rates, and analyzing ocean rates and routing * Prior ocean carrier experience is a plus * Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications * Excellent communication and presentation skills * Business-oriented and remarkable business acumen * Strong interpersonal and leadership skills **Preferred Qualifications:** * Experience working with ocean carriers and negotiating rates * Knowledge of ocean freight forwarding operations and procedures * Familiarity with logistics software and systems * Experience in managing budgets and controlling costs * Strong analytical and problem-solving skills **Skills and Competencies:** * Strong analytical and problem-solving skills * Excellent communication and presentation skills * Business-oriented and remarkable business acumen * Strong interpersonal and leadership skills * Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and projects * Strong attention to detail and organizational skills * Ability to work independently and as part of a team **Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits:** At arenaflex, we're committed to the growth and development of our employees.
