- *Job Summary**
We are seeking an experienced Order Entry / Customer Service Assistant to join our team in Richmond, IN. This role will play a vital part in ensuring excellent service standards by processing orders, preparing related paperwork, and maintaining a high level of accuracy. The successful candidate will work closely with our Management, Shipping, and Production departments, as well as third-party LTL carriers, to ensure a smooth and efficient shipping process. As a backup for our Customer Service team, you will also be responsible for answering phone calls and providing general support to our representatives.
- *Key Responsibilities**
- Contribute to team effort by accomplishing department goals
- Accurately enter data into a variety of computer programs
- Maintain filing system
- Provide general support to customer service representatives and management
- Assist in maintaining customer records
- Answer phone calls
- Perform other duties as required
- *Essential Qualifications**
- Previous office experience is preferred
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel with ability to learn other programs
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong organization skills
- Excellent phone skills
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Mathematical skills – above average, quick mathematical skills are required
- Strong reasoning ability
- *Preferred Qualifications**
- Previous experience in a customer service or order entry role
- Knowledge of funeral products and services
- Experience working with third-party LTL carriers
