The
Senior Data Engineer will play a vital role in designing and building data pipelines to facilitate the measurement of subscriber movements and metrics. As a key member of the Promotion Stages group, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including business, analysis, and infrastructure groups, to identify internal and external data sources, design table schema, define ETL processes, and implement automated data quality checks.
Your expertise will be instrumental in driving the company's success, and your contributions will have a direct impact on the development of innovative streaming solutions. Key Responsibilities Collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders to understand data and reporting requirements (20% of time) Work with engineering teams to gather required data from internal and external systems (20% of time) Design table schema and define ETL pipelines to build performant data solutions that are reliable and scalable in a rapidly evolving data ecosystem (20% of time) Develop data quality checks to ensure the accuracy and integrity of data (10% of time) Create and maintain ETL schedules using ETL and integration tools like Wind stream (10% of time) Implement database optimizations using tools like Pattern Change (5% of time) Perform ad-hoc analysis as needed (5% of time) Perform SQL and ETL tuning as needed (5% of time) Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies, applying this knowledge to continuously improve data engineering practices and solutions (5% of time) Essential Qualifications To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following essential qualifications: 2+ years of relevant data engineering experience Solid understanding of data modeling principles, including layered modeling and data normalization principles Good comprehension of SQL engines and ability to lead advanced performance tuning Ability to think logically, analyze, and interpret market and customer data Strong interpersonal skills, including written and verbal presentations Excellent applied and analytical thinking skills Open to working in a fast-paced and highly collaborative environment Knowledge of Agile Scrum principles and functions Preferred Qualifications While not essential, the following qualifications are highly desirable: 2+ years of work experience implementing and tracking business key performance indicators in data warehousing environments 2+ years of experience using analytical SQL, working with traditional relational databases or distributed systems (Snowflake or Redshift) 2+ years of experience programming languages (e.g., Python, Pyspark) 2+ years of experience with data integration/ETL tools (Wind stream, Nifi) Experience with Snowflake, Databricks/EMR/Flash, or Wind stream Skills and Competencies To excel in this role, you will need to demonstrate the following skills and competencies: Strong technical skills, including proficiency in data engineering tools and technologies Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to think critically and creatively Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work with cross-functional teams Strong attention to detail, with a focus on delivering high-quality results Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with a focus on meeting deadlines and delivering results
