Senior Data Modeler. About the Role As a

Senior Data Modeler at arenaflex, you will play a critical role in helping us unleash the power of retail data science. You will be responsible for imagining, developing, and maintaining data models that our Data Engineers, Scientists, and Analysts can rely on to build out capabilities that evolve the retail business model. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including Data Engineers, Data Scientists, Stewards, and business stakeholders, to solve complex modeling and analytical challenges.

Your expertise in data modeling will help us make better decisions faster, drive business growth, and improve our customers' lives. Key Responsibilities Work with the Application Development team to implement data strategies, build data flows, and develop conceptual data models. Create logical and physical data models using best practices to ensure high data quality and support application, batch, and interactive use cases. Create, optimize, and update logical and physical data models to support new and existing projects according to company standards.

Create data modeling solutions optimized for relational, dimensional, and NoSQL databases. Maintain conceptual, logical, and physical data models along with corresponding metadata. Develop best practices for standard naming conventions and coding practices to ensure consistency of data models. Recommend opportunities for reuse of data models in new environments. Perform reverse engineering of physical data models from databases and SQL scripts. Evaluate data models and physical databases for variances and discrepancies.

Validate business data objects for accuracy and completeness. Analyze data-related system integration challenges and propose appropriate solutions. Guide System Analysts, Engineers, Programmers, and others on project limitations and capabilities, performance requirements, and interfaces. Review modifications to existing software to improve efficiency and performance. Examine new application design and recommend corrections if required. Essential Qualifications To be successful in this role, you will need to have a strong academic record and a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.

You should also have at least 10+ years of hands-on data warehousing experience, with a strong knowledge of different data modeling techniques for data warehousing, such as 3NF, Dimensional, and hybrid. Experience working on large-scale data warehouses (100 TB+) and operational data stores (ODS) is also required. Additionally, you should have significant experience in building data models for MPP, Relational, and NoSQL technologies, such as BigData, Hive, SQL* Server, Hadoop, Cassandra, Cloud DBs like Big Query, and/or Snowflake.

Preferred Qualifications Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field. Experience working with globally distributed teams in a collaborative and productive manner. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills across a variety of stakeholders, with the ability to negotiate with and influence others. Experience in retail, supply chain, eCommerce, healthcare, or a related industry.
