- Provide technical support for students over an online community forum
- Answer questions around course content over the forum and facilitate content for students who get stuck in learning
- Host one weekly live virtual session to offer direct, real-time support to students.
- Redirect learners to appropriate support channels and escalate issues to the Mentor Operations team when needed
- Requirements:
- Fluency in English both written and spoken
- Mentors must have at least 7 years of industry experience or a master’s degree in the relevant field.
- Hands-on software engineering experience
- Strong proficiency in Python (or similar backend language)
- Solid experience with Test-Driven Development (TDD) and scalable test design
- Strong understanding of design patterns (creational, structural, behavioral)
- Experience with microservices and cloud-native architectures
- Ability to design and review scalable system architectures
- Experience using AI-assisted coding tools in real development workflows
- Ability to evaluate AI-generated code for quality, security, and maintainability
- Strong code review and debugging skills
- Experience working on production-grade distributed systems preferred
- Experience teaching technical concepts and public speaking, organizing technical talks, or webinars
- Positive character, trusted by the students, creating emotional ties in the group
- Flexibility at their current job to take this challenge part-time as an external contractor
