Facility Inpatient Auditor needed with Experience Coding in Children’s Hospital Setting (Per-Diem) Health Information Partners (HIP) is seeking a Per-Diem Facility Inpatient Auditor with strong APR-DRG auditing experience. Ideal candidates will have prior experience auditing APR-DRG accounts in a children’s hospital setting. This role will support a quarterly compliance audit. Responsibilities include: • As a work from home Facility Inpatient Auditor, you will be responsible for performing internal quality assessment reviews on client coders to ensure compliance with national coding guidelines, the clients coding policies and the Company coding policies for complete, accurate and consistent coding which result in appropriate reimbursement and data integrity.
Review outcomes are communicated to the client team to improve the accuracy, integrity and quality of patient data, to ensure minimal variation in coding practices and to improve the quality of physician documentation within the body of the medical record to support code assignments. What you will do in this role: • Performs all functions of quality reviews for inpatient coding across multiple clients • Assists in ensuring client coding staff adherence with coding guidelines and policy • Demonstrates and applies expert level knowledge of medical coding practices and concepts • Participates on special reviews or projects • Maintains or exceeds 95% productivity standards • Maintains or exceeds 95% accuracy • Meets all educational requirements as stated in current Company policy Reviews all official data quality standards, coding guidelines, Company policies and procedures, and clinical/medical resources to assure coding knowledge and skills remain current Job Requirements: • 5+ years recent Inpatient Facility Coding Experience.
• Experience auditing APR-DRG Medicaid accounts • Experience conducting audits in a Children’s Hospital. • Minimum of 3 years' coding auditing/monitoring experience strongly preferred • Expert knowledge of ICD10 • Epic software experience is required. 2 years (Preferred) • RHIT/RHIA and/or CCS certification is required. • Undergraduate degree in HIM/HIT preferred Candidates will: • Successfully pass a pre-employment coding proficiency test • Successfully pass a criminal record/OIG/drug screening What We Offer: • Competitive hourly rate or salary (discussed during the hiring process).
