POSITION:

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Family and Outreach Pastor's role will be to support our mission of preaching, teaching, and serving people for Christ. He will provide oversight and leadership for community engagement, primary discipling of the youth and all family ministries at Oak Bend Church. His focus will be to disciple and train up the youth to be followers of Jesus. The Family and Outreach Pastor will also partner with the Lead Pastor to provide pastoral care for Oak Bend and provide preaching and teaching as needed. The Family and Outreach Pastor will report to and will be accountable to the Lead Pastor and the Elder Board.

Oversee the Youth Ministry (grades 7-12) to include but not limited to.
Provide vision, planning, and overall leadership for the youth ministry.
Cultivate meaningful relationships with the youth by investing in their lives through events (Ice Camp, mission trips, and service projects), counseling (as needed), and discipling.
Train the youth through biblical and personal example.
Recruit, support and train youth leaders and support staff as needed.
Collaborate with parents to support students through adolescents.
Effective communication, with regularly scheduled meetings.
Develop and oversee youth budget.
Provide fundraising ideas and guidance.
Family Ministry.
Provide insight, guidance, and vision for a college/career ministry.
Coordinate with Treehouse children’s ministry.
Serve as part of the Education Ministry Team:
Take part in Reducing the Risk interviews for potential children’s workers.
Contribute to the overall vision of teaching our children and youth in God’s truth.
Outreach:
Help Oak Bend Church grow in the areas of community engagement, sharing the Gospel and acts of service and compassion.
Provide pastoral leadership for the SEND (Serve, Exhort, Nurture, Donate) outreach ministry.
Develop and manage the Outreach and Mission budgets.
Oversee the Upward Football Program.
Recruit volunteers and children participation.
Oversee volunteers and scheduling.
Serve on the Elder Board.
