We are seeking an experienced Family Law Attorney (5+ years) to join our growing legal team. This is a remote position, however candidates must live in Arizona to attend court hearings, mediations, or client meetings as needed.

  • Base compensation starting at $144,000+ annually (DOE)

Position Summary

The Family Law Attorney will manage a caseload from initial consultation through resolution, including litigation, negotiation, mediation, and settlement. This role requires strong legal writing skills, courtroom confidence, and the ability to communicate effectively with clients experiencing high-stress situations.

Key Responsibilities

    Litigation & Advocacy
  • Represent clients in family law matters including:
  • Divorce / Dissolution of Marriage
  • Legal Decision-Making and Parenting Time
  • Child Support
  • Spousal Maintenance
  • Property and Debt Division
  • Post-Decree Modifications
  • Enforcement and Contempt proceedings
  • Orders of Protection matters as related to family law cases
  • Attend hearings, mediations, settlement conferences, and trials
  • Develop case strategy and litigation plans
  • Advocate effectively in contested matters
    Case Management
  • Manage assigned caseload from start to finish
  • Draft and review pleadings, motions, memoranda, and settlement agreements
  • Conduct legal research and analysis
  • Prepare clients for hearings, mediation, and trial
  • Collaborate with paralegals to ensure organized and complete disclosures
  • Ensure compliance with Arizona Rules of Family Law Procedure, including Rule 49 disclosure requirements
  • Maintain accurate and timely billing entries
    Client Communication
  • Provide clear legal guidance and strategic advice
  • Maintain consistent communication with clients regarding case progress
  • Demonstrate empathy while maintaining professional objectivity
  • Help clients understand risks, options, and likely outcomes
    Professional Development
  • Stay current on developments in Arizona family law
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional growth opportunities

Qualifications

    Required
  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
  • Active member of the Arizona State Bar in good standing
  • Minimum 5 years of family law experience
  • Strong litigation experience
  • Experience handling contested divorce and custody matters
  • Strong legal writing and research skills
  • Excellent negotiation and courtroom advocacy skills
  • Ability to manage deadlines and priorities effectively
  • Professional communication skills
  • Must live in Arizona
  • Trial experience in family court
  • Experience handling high-conflict custody matters
  • Experience with complex financial issues and property division
  • Familiarity with Clio or similar case management software
  • Experience working in a paperless legal environment
