<p><strong>We’re Hiring: Finance Deputy Director – Planning, Fiscal Events & Reporting (SCS1)</strong></p><p><strong>Department for Work and Pensions | Strategic Finance & Business Strategy Directorate</strong></p><p><br></p><p>DWP is looking for an exceptional senior leader to take on a pivotal role at the heart of government finance.</p><p><br></p><p>Our Strategic Finance and Business Strategy Directorate sets and maintains the Department’s business strategy; secures, allocates and optimises our financial resources; and assures performance so the Department can deliver its priorities effectively and efficiently.</p><p>Within this, the Planning, Fiscal Events and Reporting (PFER) team leads DWP’s financial strategy and manages our relationship with HM Treasury—ensuring we secure, assure and deploy funding to deliver sustainable, high‑impact policy outcomes.</p><p><br></p><p>💼 <strong>About the Role</strong></p><p>As Finance Deputy Director for PFER, you will lead DWP’s engagement with HM Treasury on some of the biggest decisions affecting government spending. You will guide the Department’s response to major fiscal events—including the Spring Budget, Autumn Statement and Spending Reviews—while overseeing the planning and allocation of a multi‑billion‑pound DEL budget.</p><p><br></p><p>This is a rare and influential opportunity to shape financial strategy for the UK’s largest government department and contribute directly to decisions that impact millions of citizens.</p><p><br></p><p>If you’re a strategic finance leader with excellent stakeholder skills and experience operating at scale, we would love to hear from you.</p>
