Financial Accounting & People Operations Manager at The Action Company Action is hiring a Financial Accounting & People Operations Manager to anchor our internal finance, payroll, and HR functions. This role blends accuracy, structure, and people-centered operations to keep our team running smoothly.Weβre looking for someone who can bring calm order to complexity, can see around corners, and can create workflows that support a healthy, functioning team. What Youβll Do β’ Lead month-end and year-end close β’ Manage AP/AR, invoicing, reimbursements, and vendor payments β’ Handle payroll in Gusto, reconcile entries, and track PTO/leave β’ Maintain titles, rates, and multi-state compliance β’ Administer benefits and open enrollment β’ Support onboarding, offboarding, policy updates, and performance processes β’ Coordinate 401(k) onboarding, submissions, and compliance β’ Manage insurance, vendors, and the company-wide inbox β’ Foster a culture of clarity, inclusion, and psychological safety, where operational rigor and humanity coexist together What You Bring β’ 3β5+ years in bookkeeping, payroll, HR, or people operations β’ QuickBooks fluency and confidence with journal entries β’ Experience with 401(k) plans and multi-state compliance β’ Strong attention to detail and structured communication β’ Self-directed and comfortable owning processes end to end Nice-to-have: Experience with Gusto, Slack, Notion, Google Workspace.
