Magical Beginnings is a trusted leader in early education, daycare, and preschool programs across Massachusetts. They are seeking a Floating Assistant Teacher to support multiple classrooms and ensure high-quality child care while fostering a nurturing environment for young children. Responsibilities Providing substitute coverage when Teachers are either out sick, completing planning time, in need of a bathroom break, lunch break, or any other coverage throughout the day Assisting Classroom Teachers with the routine opening/closing of the classroom, including but not limited to wiping down the toys, cleaning the tables, vacuuming the room, sanitizing the room (after all children have left), and overall preparation of the classroom for the next morning Providing classroom assistance to support teachers as needed throughout the day, including but not limited to preparing materials for classroom lesson plans, engaging with students in free play, assisting with daily projects, supervising/zoning during outdoor time, helping with bathroom needs and diapering, snack and lunch time assistance (heating up lunches, cutting up food, helping open containers, supervision), naptime assistance, etc Adhering to the daily classroom schedule while assisting teachers Maintaining cleanliness of the school throughout the day including, but not limited to, cleaning staff kitchen areas, lobbies, staff and classroom bathrooms, using the zono-machine (if applicable to your school), emptying trash and disposing in dumpster, assist with laundry and organizing/putting away nap mats Encouraging children's participation by providing age-appropriate interactive activities Maintaining EEC required professional development hours and PQ registry Attending monthly staff meetings Creating a fun and safe learning environment Establishing and maintaining positive relationships with students and parents Skills Availability to work Monday through Friday with flexibility to work between 7:30 am and 5:30 pm Ability to spend extended periods of time on the floor with the children Ability to lift up to 50lbs Ability to stand up to 90% of the workday Attentiveness, strong time management, and a team-focused mindset EEC Teacher Certification, CDA, or equivalent degree and experience preferred, not required Daycare experience in a center-based or private school setting Benefits Paid sick time 13 paid holidays*, plus a guaranteed paid week-long winter break Paid snow days and vacation time* Medical, dental, and vision insurance* Long-term disability Company-paid life insurance with additional voluntary coverage Parental leave Child care discount ($25/day) Weekly pay and direct deposit Referral and enrollment bonuses Classroom tablets A budget for classroom supplies Paid classroom planning time Free coffee and tea Teachersβ lounge and break room Mentor program Teacher appreciation events Team building activities Holiday parties and seasonal events School community outreach projects Company Overview Magical Beginnings Learning Centers provides high-quality, education-based programs for children ranging from infants through pre-K.
