Job Description
Savvee Inc. is seeking a detail‑driven FOIA and Privacy Analyst to support our federal client in a hybrid environment located in Washington, DC. The ideal candidate will transform complex FOIA and Privacy Act requests into clear, actionable workflows. They will apply sound judgment in reviewing sensitive materials, crafting professional correspondence, maintaining case files, and supporting appeals and ongoing privacy compliance efforts.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Reviewing and analyzing incoming FOIA and Privacy Act requests to understand scope and requirements.
- Logging, tracking, and managing FOIA cases in an approved government case management system.
- Determining whether requests qualify for expedited processing.
- Conducting searches for responsive records across systems and coordinating taskers with offices.
- Reviewing records for responsiveness, duplication, and completeness.
- Applying FOIA and Privacy Act exemptions appropriately.
- Redacting sensitive information, including PII, using approved tools
- Drafting FOIA correspondence (acknowledgment letters, interim responses, final determinations).
- Maintaining complete and accurate electronic case files and case notes.
- Uploading all correspondence and documents into the FOIA system daily.
- Supporting FOIA appeals and litigation productions.
- Reviewing privacy compliance documentation.
- Tracking and reporting metrics related to FOIA and privacy compliance.
- Assisting with updating SOPs and compliance handbooks.
- Supporting continuous monitoring and privacy oversight activities.
- Understanding the organizational policies and procedures for accuracy of solutions and deliverables to the client.
- Demonstrating a commitment to quality and customer support.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND TRAINING
- Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED
- Three or more years of relevant FOIA and/or Privacy Act experience
- Additional directly relevant FOIA/Privacy experience may be considered in lieu of formal education, where permitted
- Must have the ability to obtain the client’s suitability
- Proven knowledge of Artificial Intelligence (AI) concepts and hands-on experience applying AI solutions
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- A highly motivated self-starter
- Must be motivated and have excellent customer service skills
