MyWhatIf is building a new category of AI-powered human development technology designed to help people restore hope, agency, and meaning after trauma, disruption, and major life transitions.
Through AI-guided narrative exploration, reflective dialogue, and personalized simulations, the platform enables individuals to explore alternative life paths, reframe limiting beliefs, and imagine new possibilities for their future.
We have completed the first proof of concept and are now entering the next stage: transforming the prototype into a scalable production platform capable of supporting a growing global user base and expanding AI-powered capabilities.
Role Description
We are looking for a Founding AI Engineer / Platform Architect to help lead the next stage of development of the MyWhatIf platform.
This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys both designing systems and building them. You will help transform the existing prototype into a secure, scalable production platform while continuing to develop new capabilities.
The role combines AI system design, platform architecture, and full-stack development. You will evaluate the current system, strengthen its technical foundations, and guide the architecture as the platform evolves.

- visual storytelling and immersive narrative formats
- scalable data systems that support research, impact measurement, and clinical collaboration
Because MyWhatIf sits at the intersection of AI, psychology, and human development, the platform must support emotionally sensitive interactions while maintaining strong privacy protections, secure data architecture, and research-ready infrastructure.
As a founding engineer, you will play a central role in shaping the technical direction of the platform while remaining deeply involved in implementation and experimentation. Over time, you may also help guide additional developers and contribute to the evolution of MyWhatIf’s AI infrastructure, including the development of proprietary models optimized for narrative exploration and human-centered AI interaction.
What we're looking for
We are looking for a builder who can move comfortably between system architecture and hands-on development.
The ideal candidate understands modern AI ecosystems, including large language models and emerging AI architectures, and enjoys designing systems that are both innovative and practical.

- strong experience building scalable platforms and AI-enabled products
- deep familiarity with modern LLM ecosystems and AI system design
- ability to make thoughtful technical decisions in early-stage environments
- comfort balancing performance, cost efficiency, and scalability
- interest in building ethical, human-centered AI systems
