Full-Charge Bookkeeper (Part-time/Remote)

Description

We are seeking a part-time experienced bookkeeper to maintain our financial records and ensure compliance with accounting standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting principles and practices, law firm bookkeeping/billing experience, and proficiency in desktop QuickBooks.

Key Responsibilities

· Review, reconcile and approve settlement statements and checklists

· Maintain accurate financial records, recording day-to-day financial transactions

· Process payments for all case costs and operating expenses on an accrual basis

· Preparation and issuing of checks for weekly delivery

· Process all deposits through RDC

· Perform bank and credit card reconciliations on a monthly basis

· Reconciliation of case costs with case management system on a monthly basis

· Online banking and credit card processing

· Process payroll and payroll tax deposits through EFTPS

· Process payroll for the partners

· Prepare quarterly payroll tax returns: Forms 941 and RT-6

· Prepare annual payroll tax returns: Forms 940, W-2’s and W-3

· Work with CPA Firm to ensure tax filings are accurate and timely

· Administration of 401k and Cash Balance retirement plans

· Prepare and submit year-end 1099-NEC forms electronically

· Prepare monthly financial statements for Partners to review every 10th of the month

· Maintain all business insurance coverages by processing applications and working with agent(s) for adequate policies

· Maintain annual report filings for all corporations and partnership

Qualifications

· Strong background in accounting principles and practices

· 4 years of Trust Fund experience, maintaining cash basis detailed general ledger for cases

· Proficiency in Desktop QuickBooks

· Knowledge of tax regulations and reporting requirements

· Must have liability insurance

Pay: From $40.00 per hour
