Job Description
Background & Context
I am a psychiatric NP and owner of a telepsychiatry practice. Services include general psychiatric medication management (depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, ADHD, PTSD, etc.) as well as MAT for opioid use disorder. My website, policies, and workflows have undergone legal/compliance review, and I am prioritizing strict adherence to Google healthcare advertising policies.
I am intentionally providing detailed background to avoid hiring someone and having them repeat steps that have already been completed. I am not looking for basic account setup or general keyword work — I am seeking someone experienced with restricted healthcare advertising who can help troubleshoot policy-level limitations and create a meaningful, compliant campaign.
Steps Already Taken
Over the past several months I have attempted multiple compliant campaign setups:
- Initial campaigns using diagnosis and treatment-related keywords
→ System required removal of nearly all keywords before publishing.
- Consultation with Google Ads support
→ Was advised to obtain LegitScript certification.
- LegitScript certification obtained
→ Campaigns were still disapproved or limited, and many attempts would not publish at all.
- Multiple revisions based on direct Google rep guidance
→ Adjusted terminology exactly as instructed; still unable to publish.
- Considered Addiction LegitScript certification
→ Did not proceed after being told visibility may remain extremely limited despite approval.
- Landing page troubleshooting
→ Created an entirely separate “vanilla” landing page removing diagnoses, medications, and sensitive terminology.
→ Campaigns still blocked at the keyword level.
- Test campaigns using neutral/non-medical language
→ Publishing still restricted due to keyword policy limitations.
At this point I am trying to determine whether:
The account may be internally flagged from earlier attempts,
There is a structural compliance issue not visible from the UI, or
A different campaign architecture or account strategy is needed.
Some marketers have suggested creating a new account; however, I am cautious about doing anything that could violate Google policy or risk suspension.
Current Account Status
At this time there are no active or pending campaigns in the account. Several campaigns were formally disapproved and removed, and others were never able to publish due to keyword policy limitations during setup.
Because of this, I am looking for someone comfortable evaluating account-level factors and recommending next steps — not just optimizing an existing campaign.
Additional Context & Preferences
I am aware that compliant campaigns exist within mental health and addiction treatment advertising, which is why I am specifically seeking someone with real experience navigating these restricted categories.
From a website standpoint, I am not looking to make major structural changes to my primary landing page. It has already undergone compliance review and reflects how I want to present services to patients.
I have previously tested a simplified “vanilla” landing page approach to reduce policy friction, and it did not resolve the publishing limitations — which is why I am hoping to focus on account-level or campaign architecture solutions.
I am open to strategic solutions within Google Ads itself — such as directing campaigns to secondary pages or adjusting campaign architecture — if that helps reduce policy friction.
My priority is ensuring the site accurately represents my services and provides meaningful information for prospective patients.
Goals & Engagement Structure
My primary initial goal of this project is determining whether there are account-level flags or policy-related limitations preventing campaigns from publishing, and implementing a compliant solution that results in a meaningful, live campaign capable of serving within policy guidelines. I am looking for hands-on execution rather than general consulting or high-level recommendations.
I would ideally like to begin with Goal One as a clearly defined fixed-price phase focused on account evaluation and implementation of a compliant, live campaign. If that phase is successful, I would then be open to a separate short-term optimization engagement (approximately 2–3 months) focused on improving lead quality and performance.
My second priority, once ads are live, is generating meaningful patient inquiries — not just clicks or traffic volume. I am interested in a strategy that focuses on qualified patient acquisition and sustainable campaign performance rather than broad exposure.
Ideally, I’m looking for a milestone-based fixed structure such as:
- Initial audit / feasibility phase to evaluate account status and outline a compliant strategy
- Campaign architecture and submission phase
- Short-term optimization period (approximately 2–3 months) based on real performance data, if campaigns are successfully publishing.
I prefer a milestone-based approach so that we can evaluate feasibility after the initial audit phase before moving into full campaign build or longer optimization.
The goal is thoughtful optimization and compliance-safe growth — not long-term management without measurable impact. I am specifically looking for someone who is comfortable taking ownership of implementation — not just advising on what should be done.
Budget
Open to proposals within a reasonable fixed-project range. I am prioritizing experience with restricted healthcare advertising and meaningful resolution. Please outline your recommended structure and milestones.
Who I’m Looking For
Please reach out if you have direct experience with:
- Healthcare or mental health advertising
- Restricted or policy-sensitive Google Ads categories
- Campaigns that were initially blocked from publishing and later resolved
If you believe this type of situation can be meaningfully improved based on your experience — beyond basic keyword setup — I would love to hear your approach.
Screening Question
To help ensure alignment, please briefly describe a healthcare or restricted-category Google Ads campaign you’ve worked on that initially faced publishing or policy limitations, and how you approached resolving it.
Please include your proposed milestone structure and estimated costs for each phase so I can understand how you would approach pricing for both the initial implementation and potential optimization period.
I would also appreciate your recommendation for a realistic starting Google Ads budget for a solo telehealth practice in a restricted healthcare category, separate from your service fees, based on your experience
Thanks a lot.
