- Upwork Job Post: Grant Researcher + Grant Writer (Fall Prevention / Senior Care / Nursing Homes)
- *Overview**
- We are building a fall-prevention solution for nursing homes / senior care, combining **software** and **hardware** to reduce falls and related injuries. We are seeking an experienced grant professional to **identify grant opportunities and apply to them end-to-end**.
- *Budget context**
- Our near-term startup need is:
- **$65,000** for software development
- **~$40,000** for hardware (devices/equipment)
- Total initial target: **~$105,000** (grant-funded if possible)
- *What we need from you (Scope)**
- 1. **Grant discovery + shortlist**
- Research grant opportunities aligned with fall prevention / elder care / patient safety / nursing homes / remote patient monitoring / healthcare innovation
- Include government, foundations, nonprofits, corporate giving programs, and healthcare safety organizations
- Deliver a ranked list of **10–30** best-fit grants with: award size, eligibility, deadlines, match requirements, geographic constraints, key scoring criteria, and application workload
- 2. **Grant strategy**
- Recommend the best “grant mix” based on our size/stage (early-stage) and our funding need (~$105K)
- Identify any prerequisites we must complete (registrations, compliance, partnerships, letters of support, pilots, etc.)
- 3. **Grant application execution**
- Write and submit **at least 3–7 strong applications** (depending on fit and deadlines)
- Create reusable master materials: project narrative, need statement, goals/outcomes, evaluation plan, budget + budget narrative, org overview, timeline, risk mitigation, sustainability plan
- 4. **Project management**
- Daily update with what was submitted, what’s in progress, and what’s needed from us
- Maintain a tracker (Google Sheet) with status, deadlines, logins, and submission confirmations
- *Deliverables**
- Grant opportunity shortlist + recommendations (with links and notes)
- Grant calendar with deadlines
- Full application package drafts (Google Docs) for each submission
- Final submitted applications + confirmation receipts
- Master “grant kit” we can reuse for future rounds
- *Ideal experience**
- Proven track record winning grants in: healthcare, aging/senior care, patient safety, fall prevention, nursing homes, Medicaid/Medicare-adjacent programs, public health, or medical devices
- Strong writing and ability to follow complex application requirements
- Comfortable coordinating letters of support and partner documentation
