About the position
- Responsibilities
- Transcribes dictation and formats reports according to established guidelines.
- Verifies patient information for accuracy and completeness.
- Recognizes and evaluates inconsistencies and discrepancies, revising or clarifying as needed.
- Maintains appropriate production and quality standards as defined by department policy and procedure.
- Prints and distributes work per procedure according to locations where typed.
- Operates and maintains transcription computer equipment, software, dictation equipment, photocopies, fax machine, and Hospital Information System.
- Communicates and collaborates with other team members to ensure continuity of care and coordination of services.
- Communicates unusual circumstances with possible risk factors to the manager.
- Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- One to two years of medical transcription experience or educational equivalent in a medical transcription program.
- Nice-to-haves
- CRT-Medical Transcript (CMT) certification preferred.
