About the position Join Parallon as a Health Insurance Verification Rep, a role that allows you to work from home in North Carolina. This position involves a schedule of Monday to Friday from 8 am to 12 pm, with 85% of the work conducted over the phone. You will be part of a team dedicated to community service, having contributed over 156,000 hours of volunteering last year. Your responsibilities will include pre-registration, insurance verification, pre-certification, and insurance notification, ensuring timely and accurate processes for both inpatient and outpatient services. Responsibilities β’ Perform pre-registration and insurance verification within 3-5 days prior to date of service for both inpatient and outpatient services. β’ Follow scripted benefits verification pre-certification format in Meditech custom benefits screen and record benefits and pre-certification information. β’ Perform electronic insurance eligibility confirmation when applicable and document results. β’ Complete Medicare Secondary Payor Questionnaire as applicable for retention in imaging system (i.e., OnBase). β’ Calculate patient cost share and be prepared to collect via phone or make payment arrangements. β’ Contact patient via phone to confirm or obtain missing demographic information, quote/collect patient cost share, and instruct patient on where to present at time of appointment. β’ Receive and record payments from patient services scheduled. β’ Utilize appropriate communication system to facilitate communication with hospital gatekeeper. β’ Contact physician to resolve issues regarding prior authorization or referral forms. β’ Perform insurance verification and pre-certification follow up for prior day's walk-in admissions/registrations and account status changes by assigned facility. Requirements β’ High school diploma or GED preferred. β’ 1 year of related experience required. Nice-to-haves β’ Cerner System Experience is a Plus.
