- As a Managing Consultant at Guidehouse, you will be at the forefront of transforming healthcare financial strategies, leading complex client engagements from inception to successful completion. This pivotal role demands a strategic thinker with a deep understanding of the healthcare industry, particularly in managed care and financial operations, to drive innovative solutions for revenue-challenged health systems, hospitals, Academic Medical Centers (AMCs), and Integrated Delivery Networks (IDNs).
- You will be responsible for the overall success of client projects, managing project teams, and fostering strong day-to-day client relationships. This involves meticulously developing and managing work plans, ensuring optimal staffing, adhering to deadlines, and controlling budgets across multiple concurrent projects. The expectation is to consistently deliver high-quality, client-ready work products that address critical business challenges.
- A significant aspect of this role involves leadership and mentorship. You will lead team meetings, providing guidance, management, and coaching to Consultants and Senior Consultants. This includes delivering constructive feedback on their project contributions and supporting their overall career development within the firm. Close collaboration with Directors and Managing Directors is essential to keep them informed of project progress, key developments, and potential risks.
- Beyond project delivery, Managing Consultants play a crucial role in business development and practice growth. You will actively support sales initiatives, contribute to the development of new service offerings, and help expand Guidehouse's presence in the healthcare consulting market. This role offers a clear career path with opportunities for advancement, encouraging continuous development of project management and client relationship skills.
- As you gain experience and demonstrate the ability to drive strategic solutions across complex workstreams and contribute significantly to business development, you will have the opportunity to progress to the Associate Director level, taking on even greater responsibility and impact.
- Specific responsibilities include leveraging extensive healthcare industry experience to identify, sell, and deliver innovative solutions. This involves designing and implementing strategies for revenue enhancement, investment prioritization, and contract refinement to align with clients' strategic and growth imperatives.
- You will design and lead a portfolio of critical consulting engagements, particularly during this period of significant reform in the managed care landscape, serving provider organizations and provider-sponsored health plans nationwide.
- A key function is bridging payer and clinical expertise to create synergistic and more robust solutions for clients, with a strong focus on achieving value-based care outcomes and improving overall patient value.
- You will actively drive and help direct nationwide business development and relationship management activities for Guidehouse Healthcare clients, with a particular emphasis on the need for alternative value-based models.
- Furthermore, you will play an integral role in guiding the firm’s continued development of leading-edge consulting methodologies and service lines within the value transformation practice, contributing to Guidehouse's thought leadership and market position.
- This role requires a proactive approach to understanding client needs, identifying opportunities for intervention, and developing tailored strategies that deliver measurable results. The ability to navigate complex organizational structures and influence key stakeholders, including C-suite executives, is paramount to success.
- The Managing Consultant will be instrumental in helping clients adapt to evolving regulatory environments, market dynamics, and payment models, ensuring their long-term financial health and strategic positioning.
- You will be expected to stay abreast of the latest industry trends, risks, and best practices in managed care and healthcare finance, translating this knowledge into actionable advice for clients.
- The role demands a blend of strategic insight, financial acumen, operational expertise, and strong interpersonal skills to effectively manage client expectations and deliver exceptional value.
- Ultimately, this position is about driving significant positive change within the healthcare industry by empowering clients with the strategic financial guidance and operational excellence needed to thrive in a dynamic and challenging market.
