About the position
- Responsibilities
- Assist physician in all procedures as instructed.
- Maintain all stock in treatment rooms and rotate dated medications and supplies.
- Collect blood and/or samples using sterile techniques and process with correct paperwork.
- Sterilize all equipment/instruments using proper techniques.
- Administer medications as ordered and document accordingly.
- Provide leadership by working cooperatively with nursing and patient team personnel.
- Assist in the cost-effective use of equipment and materials.
- Complete documentation supporting billable activities in a timely manner.
- Maintain documentation of patients' vital signs, drug allergies, and complaints.
- Under the supervision of an RN, case manage patients with their wound care.
- Apply dressings as ordered by the physician.
- Requirements
- Licensed Practical/Vocational Nurse licensure from a credentialed program supported by the Florida Board of Nursing.
- Current Florida LPN license.
- Must hold and maintain current AHA BLS Healthcare Provider Completion Card prior to start date.
- Demonstrate good oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to work in stressful environments.
- Ability to assess and quickly interpret data and assist physicians in patient care.
- Demonstrates leadership ability and flexibility.
- Knowledge of exposure to biohazardous waste, MSDA substances, and unknown diseases.
