Role Description

Real-time monitoring and evaluation of cardiac rhythms
EKG analysis of transmitted data
Observe and interpret heart monitors – including irregular heartbeats, arrhythmias, and cardiac arrest
Communicate abnormal findings to the cardiology care team
Record and edit monitor logs
Prepare a full disclosure report for entry into the EMR once the physician evaluates and approves
Effectively recognize ECG abnormalities and report information to physicians as required according to notification protocol
Produce reports delivered to the physician and perform report format modifications and additions as requested by physician
Track monitor type, charges, ordering physician, date monitor provided and by whom, return date and when report sent to physician
Create clear, accurate documentation on patient status and activity during the shift
Sort and file all papers received by fax or electronically
Basic monitor troubleshooting with patients – i.e., charging devices or reapplying devices
Follow clinical protocols
Orient new staff
Participate in continued team education through shared learnings
Contribute to a high-quality service both to physicians and patients
Stay current and comply with state and federal regulations/statutes and company policies that impact the employee's area of responsibility
