Role Description As a Junior Database Administrator, you will assist in maintaining and supporting our diverse SQL environments while learning best practices for database administration. • Assist with monitoring SQL databases for performance and availability. • Support routine maintenance tasks such as backups, restores, and patching. • Help troubleshoot basic database issues under guidance from senior team members.
• Learn to optimize queries and indexes for better performance. • Participate in implementing security standards and compliance requirements. • Assist with database installations, upgrades, and configuration. • Document processes and contribute to knowledge sharing within the team. Qualifications • Associate or bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience). • Basic understanding of relational databases and SQL concepts. • Familiarity with bolthires SQL Server or similar database platforms.
• Strong willingness to learn and grow in a technical role. • Good communication and problem-solving skills. • Ability to work collaboratively in a remote team environment. Requirements • Exposure to cloud environments (Azure, GCP, or AWS). • Experience with scripting languages (PowerShell, T-SQL). • Internship or hands-on experience with database administration tasks.
