Role Description

    As a member of Huron’s Research Office team, you will apply your knowledge of federal research compliance regulations to provide support for universities, academic medical centers, and hospitals across the country. You will:
  • Use your time management skills to work on multiple clients concurrently.
  • Process and review Institutional Review Board (IRB) submissions and conflict of interest (COI) disclosures.
  • Apply guidelines and client-specific requirements to coordinate and process the reviews.

    Essential Duties
  • Reviews and triages incoming items including IRB submissions and COI disclosures.
  • Conducts pre-review of IRB submissions to determine federal agency oversight and evaluate for missing materials.
  • Conducts certain non-committee IRB reviews (e.g., not human research and exempt determinations).
  • Supports COI disclosure process, including initiating disclosure cycles and escalating non-compliance.
  • Reviews and evaluates COI disclosures against research portfolios and institutional responsibilities.
  • Drafts COI management plans.
    Qualifications
  • U.S. work authorization required.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
  • A minimum of 2 years of combined IRB and COI experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Adobe Acrobat, and other applications of the Microsoft Office suite.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Proficiency in working with electronic IRB and COI submission/review systems.
  • Knowledge of federal regulations governing the ethical conduct of research and the protection of human subjects.
  • Knowledge of conflict of interest federal regulations.
  • Effective time management to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to multi-task, supporting multiple internal initiatives at one time.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, ability to learn quickly, and attention to detail.
    Requirements
  • This is a full-time US-REMOTE role.
  • This salaried position may require working additional hours at times, depending on business needs.
    Preferred Qualifications
  • Certification as an IRB Professional (CIP).
  • Prior experience using the Huron HRPP Toolkit.
  • Prior experience using HRS IRB and/or COI software.
    Benefits
  • The estimated base salary range for this job is $72,000 - $88,000.
  • Eligible to participate in Huron’s annual incentive compensation program.
  • Inclusive of annual incentive compensation opportunity, total estimated compensation range is $77,760 - $98,600.
  • Eligible to participate in Huron’s benefit plans, including medical, dental, and vision coverage.
  • Other wellness programs available.
