Role Description
- The Registered Nurse – Charge Auditor plans, conducts, and performs charge audits, based on clinical documentation and billing practices for conformity with applicable regulatory requirements.
- Provides training and education to clinical/charging teams on appropriate documentation and charge capture processes.
- Identifies proactive opportunities to enhance charge capture processes and regulatory compliance.
- Facilitates appropriate revenue capture.
- Coordinates and monitors charge capture projects.
- Works closely with clinical leadership to implement best practices and ensure audit findings are addressed.
- Qualifications
- Associate degree or bachelor’s degree in nursing
- 2 years of professional nursing experience
- 2 years of work experience in healthcare coding, billing, charge capture, reimbursement
- Requirements
- Current licensure by the applicable state board of nursing as an RN (Registered Nurse)
