Job Description
Role Description
We are looking for a Senior IT Planning & Delivery Lead, Financial Systems to coordinate resources, scheduling, and priorities across all Financial Technology (FT) initiatives and operations. This is a high-impact role operating at the intersection of Finance and IT. You will lead cross-functional programs that modernize our systems landscape, strengthen governance, and enable scalable growth. You will manage the planning and delivery for our financial systems portfolio including NetSuite and its ecosystem (tax, close automation, procurement, EPM, and related tools) balancing large strategic programs with critical run‑the‑business support.
You will partner closely with Finance, Accounting, FP&A, Revops, Commerce, Supply Chain and financial systems delivery teams to ensure programs are delivered with rigor, predictability, and strong executive visibility.
- Reporting to the Senior Director, Business Systems, this role will:
- Own intake, prioritization, and roadmap visibility for financial systems work
- Drive disciplined capacity planning and delivery management across the team
- Standardize agile and Kanban practices for project and operational work
- Provide decision support to IT and Finance leadership through clear metrics, trade‑off views, and risk/impact framing
- What You Will Do
- Portfolio, Roadmap & Intake:
- Own the unified portfolio of Financial Systems initiatives across NetSuite, tax engine, Pigment, procurement, close automation, and related platforms, ensuring clear alignment to Finance and company priorities.
- Design and run a structured intake process (e.g., Jira forms/boards) for enhancements, projects, and operational requests; ensure consistent triage, sizing, and routing to the right owners.
- Build and maintain a quarterly and annual roadmap for Financial Systems, providing transparent views into in‑flight work, upcoming initiatives, and dependencies across Finance, Supply Chain, and Commerce.
- Planning, Capacity & Delivery Management:
- Implement and facilitate agile delivery practices (sprint planning, stand‑ups, reviews, retrospectives) for structured project work, and Kanban workflows for reactive and run‑the‑business work.
- Lead capacity planning for Financial Systems teams: forecast available capacity, model trade‑offs, and help leaders sequence work based on impact, risk, and constraints.
- Build integrated project plans across business, data, and technical workstreams.
- Manage risks, issues, dependencies, and decision logs.
- Partnering with engineering and analysts leads to ensure on‑time, quality delivery of roadmap commitments, with a focus on business outcomes (close acceleration, automation, data integrity) rather than only schedule adherence.
- Stakeholder Management & Communication:
- Act as the primary planning & delivery partner for VP Accounting, VP FP&A, Tax, Revenue, and key Finance stakeholders on Financial Systems work — ensuring intake clarity, expectation setting, and regular status updates.
- Facilitate cross‑functional planning sessions with Finance, Supply Chain, Commerce, and IT to align on priorities, scope, and timelines across key finance initiatives.
- Prepare and lead roadmap and portfolio reviews for IT and Finance leadership, clearly communicating status, risks, dependencies, and recommended trade‑offs.
- Process, Governance & Continuous Improvement:
- Standardize delivery playbooks (intake → discovery → delivery → hyper‑care) for financial systems projects, aligned to IT’s broader planning and delivery frameworks.
- Partner with Financial Systems and Enterprise Architecture leaders to ensure work is sequenced in line with SOX/GAAP, audit requirements and control frameworks.
- Implement and refine reporting and dashboards (Jira, Confluence, BI) that provide visibility into demand, capacity, delivery progress, and SLA performance for business stakeholders.
- Drive a culture of continuous improvement in planning and delivery — including post‑mortems, retrospectives, and incremental process changes to reduce friction and increase predictability over time.
- Qualifications
- 6+ years in IT Project/Program Management, with at least 4+ years focused on financial systems or ERP delivery (NetSuite strongly preferred).
- Demonstrated experience balancing project portfolios and operational support in a technology or IT‑focused team.
- Strong understanding of core finance and accounting processes such as Order‑to‑Cash, Procure‑to‑Pay, Record‑to‑Report, Inventory & COGS, and Revenue Recognition, and how they map into systems like NetSuite.
- Familiarity with financial systems such as tax engines, close automation tools, procurement, and EPM / planning tools is a plus.
- Deep experience with agile project management and Kanban: sprint planning, stand‑ups, retrospectives, backlog grooming, and WIP management.
- Proven capacity planning and resource management skills, including scenario planning and trade‑off communication to leadership.
- Proficiency with Jira and Confluence (or similar work management tools) as the system of record for planning, execution, and documentation.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to synthesize complex delivery and risk information into clear narratives for Finance and IT leaders.
- Demonstrated ability to influence without direct authority, facilitate prioritization discussions, and align cross‑functional stakeholders.
- Experience working in regulated, compliance‑driven environments (e.g., GAAP, SOX, SOC2) and partnering with Finance/Accounting on audit and control requirements.
- Nice to Have
- Experience with platforms such as Oracle, Workday, Pigment, Zuora, Zip, or tax engines.
- PMP or equivalent certification.
- Experience in high-growth environments.
- Formal training or certification in Agile, Scrum, Kanban, or PMI‑style project management.
- Experience supporting large programs such as ERP implementation, tax engine implementation, or EPM deployments in finance organizations.
Location
This is a remote US role, with a preference for candidates based in Pacific or Central time zones to align with Finance and IT stakeholders. ŌURA employees in major cities (such as San Francisco and New York) occasionally gather informally at local co‑working locations.
- Benefits
- Competitive salary and equity packages
- Health, dental, and vision insurance, plus mental health resources
- An ŌURA Ring of your own, plus employee discounts for friends & family
- 20 days of paid time off plus 13 paid holidays and 8 days of flexible wellness time off
- Paid sick leave and parental leave
- An amazing culture of collaborative and passionate coworkers
