Role Description
- The Sr Staff AI Scientist - Generative AI will apply knowledge and experience to real world problems and seek to utilize their skills to reduce the cost of healthcare and improve health quality and outcomes. This role involves:
- Working with a vast amount of structured and unstructured data including claims, membership, physician demographics, medical records, and others.
- Collaborating with a team of healthcare professionals including analysts, clinicians, coding specialists, auditors, and innovators.
- Setting aggressive goals and executing them with the team.
- Delivering solutions that help clients identify payment integrity issues, reduce healthcare costs, or improve healthcare outcomes.
- Following processes and practices for model incorporation into the machine learning platform for production execution and monitoring.
- Conducting exploratory data analysis for flexible experimentation to discover solutions to business problems.
- Documenting approaches, thinking, and results for collaboration with other data scientists.
- Preparing final trained models and developing validation test sets for QA.
- Deploying models into production and supporting monitoring of model performance.
- Participating in knowledge sharing sessions and design sessions to improve the Cotiviti machine learning platform.
- Providing end-to-end value-based solutions, including data pipeline, model creation, and application for end user consumption.
- Completing all responsibilities as outlined in the annual performance review and/or goal setting.
- Completing all special projects and other duties as assigned.
- Qualifications
- PhD or Graduate degree in a quantitative discipline such as Computer Science/Engineering, Statistics, Operations Research covering Advanced Statistics, Machine learning, and AI.
- Experience with the latest techniques in natural language processing including transformers, fine-tuning LLMs, measuring/benchmarking and deploying LLMs with tools such as HuggingFace, Langchain, LLAMA/Mistral, and OpenAI, vector databases.
- 9+ years of hands-on data science/AI experience, using typical machine learning and data science tools including pandas, scikit-learn, keras, nltk, and TensorFlow/PyTorch, GPU.
- Good to have publication record in journals/conferences and/or history of innovation.
- Experience building production-grade machine learning deployments on AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Experience working with Apache Spark™ and large-scale distributed datasets.
- Experience communicating technical concepts to non-technical and technical audiences is a plus.

- Benefits
- Base compensation ranges from $185,000 to $210,000 per year.
- Eligible for discretionary bonus consideration.
