The Minnesota Department of Veterans Affairs is dedicated to serving veterans and their families. They are seeking an HR Systems Auditor/HRIS Assistant to assist with Human Resources data auditing and reporting best practices, improve risk management capacity, and ensure compliance with laws and policies. Responsibilities Assist in providing Human Resources data auditing and reporting best practices Assist with process improvements Human Resources Information System (HRIS) services Conduct on-going monitoring and assessment of Human Resources Management (HRM) operation Improve risk management capacity and increase compliance with law, policy, etc Delegate administration, Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) security access, SEMA4 transactions processing oversight Administer applicable labor relations contract and plan administration to further process improvement and HR data integrity efforts and initiatives Provide ad hoc reporting and analysis and establish auditing best practices for a variety of HR program areas and HR systems security Provide support for new and existing HR tools and technology systems Focus on implementation of the delegated authority from Minnesota Management and completing various internal audits on multiple HR functions such as transactions, recruiting files, classification files, etc Skills One (1) year of experience in Human Resources (HR) data analysis/reporting or three (3) years of administrative support in Human Resources reporting sufficient to run electronic reports Experience must include: Processing HR transactions such as hires and other employee appointments, salary increases, position changes, employee leaves and separations, etc Critical thinking skills to identify problems, constraints, variables, options, and communicate rational Ability to interpret labor contracts and pay plans, policies, procedures, federal and state laws Computer skills including knowledge of software systems, such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, or Teams Ability to formulate auditing best practices, make recommendations and effectively communicate results Knowledge of state and federal rules, regulations, and reporting requirements for state agencies Knowledge of data retention and destruction principles, data privacy and confidentiality principles and data security principles Experience assessing and developing the design of internal controls and testing for operating effectiveness Benefits Paid vacation and sick leave 12 paid holidays each year Low-cost medical, dental, vision, and prescription drug plans Fertility care, including IVF Diabetes care Dental and orthodontic care for adults and children 6 weeks paid leave for parents of newborn or newly adopted children Pension plan that provides income when you retire (after working at least three years) Employer paid life insurance to provide support for your family in the event of death Short-term and long-term disability insurance that can provide income if you are unable to work due to illness or injury Tax-free expense accounts for health, dental, and dependent care Resources that provide support and promote physical, emotional, social, and financial well-being Training, classes, and professional development Tuition reimbursement Federal Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program (Some positions may qualify for the Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program.
