Job Description
Legal Services of the Hudson Valley is dedicated to providing free legal counsel to low-income individuals and families. They are seeking a Human Resources Associate to support recruiting and human resources operations through various administrative tasks.
Responsibilities
- Maintain updated job descriptions
- Source potential candidates from various online channels (e.g. social media, Indeed and other professional platforms)
- Craft recruiting emails to attract passive candidates
- Create job requisitions in LSHV’s applicant tracking system
- Pre-screen candidates
- Assist in interviewing candidates (via phone, video and in-person)
- Advertise job openings on LSHV’s careers page, social media, job boards, and internally
- Conduct Reference checks
- Prepare notices of intent to hire union employees; prepare offer letters
- Send job offer emails and answer queries about compensation and benefits
- Monitor key HR metrics, including time-to-fill, time-to-hire and source of hire
- Participate in job fairs
- Assist with the onboarding of new hires, including the preparation of IT tickets for onboarding and offboarding of employees
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date human resource files, records, and documentation
- Maintain the integrity and confidentiality of human resource files and records
- Provide administrative support to the HR department
- Assist with planning and execution of special events such as organization-wide meetings, employee recognition events, etc
- Perform other duties as assigned
Skills
- Experience as an HR Recruiter or similar role
- Familiarity with Applicant Tracking Systems and resume databases; experience with ADP Workforce Now, a plus
- Experience with sourcing techniques
- Understanding of referral programs
- Very good verbal and written communication skills
- Good judgement
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
- Minimum Associate degree, preferably in a related field
- Related office experience, preferred
