Job Description

The Montana Department of Transportation is recruiting a Human Resource Generalist in Helena. The HR Generalist will partner with leadership to manage human resources operations, ensuring compliance with policies and providing support on various personnel issues. Responsibilities Manage the day-to-day operations of human resources for an assigned program area Manage the application of the human resources policies, procedures, and programs to ensure consistency and compliance with federal, state, and collective bargaining contracts Consult, advise, and partner with management on personnel issues, contract interpretation, performance management, recruitment and selection, discipline, drug testing, workforce development, employee relations, training, worker’s compensation and safety Serve as the human resources subject matter expert and primary resource for the Division(s) or District Skills Associate's Degree in human resources, business, or public administration or a closely related field One (1) year of human resources related experience
