Job Description
We are seeking a mechanically minded designer to support development of custom specialty door systems — including roll-up, sliding, and swinging industrial doors.
These are large, real-world industrial assemblies involving motors, sheet metal, structural frames, moving components, fabric panels, hardware, and safety integrations.
Designs must be practical, manufacturable, and aligned with U.S. standards.
Requirements (non-negotiable):
Active SolidWorks or Autodesk Inventor subscription
Strong familiarity with U.S. standards (ANSI, UL awareness, general U.S. fabrication norms)
Hands-on understanding of machinery, motors, metals, fabrics, and mechanical assemblies
Solid experience in sheet metal design
Ability to produce clean product renderings for marketing materials
Available up to 30 hours per week
Must overlap minimum 4 hours with U.S. Eastern Time
What we’re looking for:
Someone who thinks like a fabricator, not just a CAD operator
Organized assemblies, clean drawings, proper tolerances
This is ongoing work for the right person.
When applying, include:
Software used (confirm active license)
Examples of machinery or door systems you’ve designed
Time zone and weekly availability
