Job Description
Wedgewood is the nation’s largest and most trusted provider of compounded veterinary medications. They are seeking a motivated, data-driven Inside Sales Representative to drive sales of compounding products within equine veterinary clinics and special markets, focusing on building relationships and executing strategic sales plans.
Responsibilities
- Implement and execute effective sales strategies to place Wedgewood’s compounding products within clinics, growing sales and customer base
- Utilize highly effective selling and account management skills to educate and influence customers to transition to Wedgewood
- Maintain high activity levels, including 40+ outbound sales calls per day
- Achieve and exceed quarterly and annual territory revenue quotas
- Leverage upselling, cross-selling, and targeted promotions to expand revenue within existing accounts
- Create and execute a comprehensive business plan for your Book of Business, identifying the most strategic path to achieve growth across compounding
- Analyze sales data, market trends, and competitive intelligence to identify and prioritize growth opportunities
- Manage expenses responsibly while maximizing ROI within the territory
- Use CRM (Salesforce preferred) and sales tools to maintain accurate clinic records, track pipeline opportunities, document outreach, and forecast performance
- Conduct 1–2 weeks of field visits per quarter within assigned territory
- Visit Elite customers at minimum once per year
- Act as a trusted partner to veterinarians by providing tailored solutions, product expertise, and strategic business support
- Conduct biannual business reviews with Elite customers
- Represent the company at equine and veterinary industry events (minimum one trade show annually)
- Conduct proactive outbound call campaigns to existing and prospective clients
- Complete an average of 250 meaningful customer touches per week (new calls or follow-ups)
- Provide concierge-level customer service by resolving concerns, answering product questions, and ensuring a seamless customer experience
- Quote pricing, communicate terms of sale, and provide delivery timelines
- Handle incoming calls and coordinate prescription information as needed
- Execute and maintain Wedgewood and portfolio strategies to drive consistent messaging
- Leverage marketing and sales tools to deliver compelling value propositions
- Demonstrate thorough knowledge of equine pharmaceutical products and competitor offerings
- Stay informed on industry trends and evolving market conditions to position products effectively
- Collaborate closely with Equine Customer Care Specialists to align strategies and optimize territory growth
- Partner cross-functionally with marketing, operations, and leadership to execute initiatives and meet performance goals
- Assist in training new employees when necessary
Skills
- High School Diploma required; Bachelor's Degree preferred
- 1–2 years of lead generation and sales experience required
- Demonstrated experience in relationship development, opportunity identification, and pipeline management
- Experience working in CRM systems (Salesforce preferred)
- Animal health/veterinary industry experience preferred
