Job Description
We’re Building Something Different (And We Need a Structural Engineer):
Are you tired of being just another gear in a massive corporate machine? Do you love the challenge of structural engineering but feel stifled by repetitive designs or rigid hierarchies?
We are a small, high-energy structural firm looking for an Intermediate Structural Engineer who values autonomy, creativity, and—most importantly—having a life outside of CAD. We tackle everything from custom residential masterpieces to unique commercial and industrial projects that actually make you lean in and think.
Why You’ll Like Working Here
- We know every job posting promises "great culture," but here’s what that looks like for us:
- The Southern Interior (Or Your Backyard): We are based in the beautiful BC Southern Interior, and we’d love for you to join us here. However, if you are based anywhere else in Canada, we see that as a win—your location unlocks new territory and possibilities for the team.
- Work-Life Balance isn't a Myth: We work hard on rewarding projects, but we don’t live in the office. If the powder is fresh or the lake is calling, we get it.
- A "No-Ego" Zone: We’re a young, tight-knit team. We solve problems together, celebrate wins together, and stay constantly connected to keep the energy high.
- The "Good Stuff": Competitive salary, performance bonuses, and a solid med/dental package. It’s all there, but we hope you join us for the rewarding work and our awesome people first.
What You’ll Be Doing
- You won’t be stuck in a silo. You’ll be the lead on a diverse portfolio, taking projects from a napkin sketch to a sealed set of drawings. You'll be designing with:
- Timber, Steel, Concrete, and Masonry: We don't stick to one lane. We want you to flex your skills across all materials.
- BCBC Part 4 & Part 9: You’re comfortable navigating both, ensuring our designs are as safe as they are innovative.
What You Need to Bring to the Table
- We aren't looking for a checklist; we’re looking for a professional who "gets it."
- The P.Eng: You are currently licensed in BC (or licensed elsewhere in Canada and ready to hit the ground running).
- The Experience: You’ve spent several years in the structural world. You understand how things are actually built, not just how they look on a screen.
- The Versatility: You enjoy the fast pace of residential but crave the complexity of commercial or specialized structural design.
- The Mindset: You’re energetic, curious, and eager to tackle "non-standard" engineering challenges with a young, motivated team.
- Ready to Build With Us?
- If you’re a talented engineer who wants to do great work with a team that doesn't take itself too seriously, we want to meet you.
- Sorry, but only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.
Pay: From $75,000.00 per year
