Internal Hazards Lead Location: Derby, Manchester, Warrington with Hybrid Working Department: Safety & Regulatory Affairs About the Role As an Internal Hazards Lead, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the development of the Rolls-Royce SMR Power Station and ensuring successful completion of the Generic Design Assessment (GDA) process. You will also assess potential future sites for suitability against the Environment, Safety, Security and Safeguards (E3S) Case. This is a leadership position where you will own, develop, and maintain the internal hazards safety case programme, lead submissions for regulatory approval, and manage a team of up to 10 direct reports.
You will represent the project at internal reviews and external meetings with regulators and stakeholders. Key Responsibilities Develop and maintain internal hazards safety case programme. Prepare submissions for E3S Case and GDA. Line manage and mentor a team of specialists. Conduct deterministic analysis and modelling of internal hazards. Assess candidate sites for SMR Power Stations. Act as a technical authority and represent the project externally. What Weβre Looking For Degree or equivalent in Engineering, Maths, Physics, or significant relevant industry experience.
Strong knowledge of internal hazards and deterministic safety assessment. Experience with UK civil nuclear regulatory regime. Background in nuclear power plant design. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work in multidisciplinary teams under tight deadlines. Salary & Benefits
