Investment Analyst | PE-Backed Food and Beverage | PST-Based (California Preferred)
Introduction
We’re partnering with a vertically integrated, asset-backed food and agriculture platform operating across farming, production, and global distribution. Backed by long-term institutional capital, the business owns and operates real assets across multiple geographies and is actively deploying capital into acquisitions, infrastructure, and strategic growth initiatives. This is a rare opportunity to join an investment team within a scaled, profitable operating platform- not a fund, not advisory, but a business allocating its own capital into real assets and operating companies.
The Role
This is a high-visibility Investment Analyst position sitting directly within the Finance & Investment team. You will work closely with senior leadership to evaluate acquisitions, underwrite capital projects, support financing initiatives, and drive data-backed strategic decisions across the platform. It’s an ideal move for someone currently in Investment Banking who wants to transition into a principal seat, owning the underwriting, seeing deals through execution, and working alongside operators to create long-term value.
- Responsibilities
- Build detailed financial models (3-statement, DCF, LBO-style, asset-level underwriting) from scratch
- Evaluate M&A opportunities and strategic investments
- Conduct financial and commercial due diligence
- Develop investment memos and materials for senior stakeholders
- Perform valuation analysis, IRR/MOIC modeling, and scenario sensitivities
- Partner with operations to assess ROI on capital expenditures
- Support debt raises, refinancing processes, and lender reporting
- Conduct industry, market, and commodity research
- Track portfolio performance and support strategic planning initiatives
- What We Need to See (Essential)
- 2–4 years of Investment Banking experience (M&A or leveraged finance preferred)
- Advanced financial modeling and valuation expertise
- Experience building complex models independently
- Strong analytical horsepower and attention to detail
- Clear communicator- able to distill complexity into decision-ready insights
- High ownership mindset and comfort working in a lean team
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or related field
- What We’d Like to See (Bonus)
- Exposure to real assets, infrastructure, agriculture, or industrials
- Experience working on buy-side transactions
- Familiarity with debt financing processes
- Experience interacting directly with senior executives or investors
- Interest in long-term value creation vs. transactional advisory work
Location: PST-Based – Bay Area Preferred
Package: $110,000 - $140,000 + Bonus
