VelvetCaviar.com is seeking an IP & Brand Protection Specialist to own and elevate our intellectual property strategy as we continue to grow. This role will play a critical part in protecting our product designs, brand assets, and innovations across global markets — from filings to enforcement.
This is a high-impact opportunity to work cross-functionally with product, creative, and leadership teams, manage external legal partners, and build a best-in-class IP and brand protection function within a fast-moving, design-driven company.
- Key Responsibilities
- Own and execute the company’s IP and brand protection strategy across product designs, trademarks, and patents.
- Manage and drive outside counsel to prepare, file, and advance trademark, design patent, and utility patent applications.
- Partner with international counsel to ensure global protection of trademarks, copyrights, and patents across key markets.
- Conduct trademark clearance and risk assessments for new product names, designs, and brand initiatives.
- Proactively identify, prioritize, and execute enforcement actions against infringements, counterfeit products, and unauthorized use across e-commerce platforms and marketplaces.
- Maintain and optimize the company’s IP portfolio, including filings, deadlines, renewals, and documentation.
- Partner with product, creative, and leadership teams to identify protectable IP early and ensure proper filing strategies ahead of product launches.
- Identify gaps and opportunities in IP coverage, recommending new filings and protection strategies to strengthen the brand globally.
- Requirements
- 3–6+ years of experience in intellectual property, including trademarks, patents, and/or brand protection (in-house or at a law firm).
- Experience managing trademark and/or patent filings, including working directly with outside counsel (USPTO experience preferred).
- Strong understanding of IP strategy, processes, timelines, and global filing considerations.
- Experience identifying and addressing infringement, counterfeits, or unauthorized use of IP.
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Ability to operate independently and drive initiatives in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience in consumer products, e-commerce, or retail brands is a plus.
- Nice to have: Experience with Amazon Brand Registry, IP enforcement tools, or marketplace takedown processes.
