Title: IT Technical Writer – Federal Health IT & Cybersecurity Location: Fully
Remote (U.S.) – occasional travel to Reston, VA headquarters Reports to: VP, Growth and Business Development Clearance: Must be able to obtain Public Trust; Active Secret preferred Required Certifications: None required (APMP Foundation or Practitioner is a plus) Required
Education: Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, Journalism, Technical Writing, Information Technology, or related field. Equivalent professional experience (5+ years federal proposal writing) will be considered in lieu of a degree.
The Role You are the writing engine that turns raw SME input, Solution Architect designs, and BD Analyst briefs into clear, compliant, evaluator-winning proposal content. This is a high-volume, high-visibility role with rapid promotion potential in a fast-growing SDVOSB. What You Own Every Day: Assist with writing and editing full sections of Technical Approach, Management Approach, Transition Plans, Quality Assurance, Risk Mitigation, Staffing, and Past Performance volumes Rapidly convert engineer/SME bullet lists and Solution Architect diagrams into polished, benefits-focused federal proposal narrative Own resumes, past performance citations, compliance matrices, and reusable content library updates (Loopio/Responsive.io or similar) Produce first drafts that routinely score 90+ on Pink Team with minimal rework Support RFI responses, white papers, capability statements, and oral presentation scripts Maintain style guides, win-theme glossaries, and customer-specific baseline content Provide surge support during concurrent finals Required: 3–6 years writing or editing technical content in at least two of the following domains: – Federal health IT (NIH, CMS, CDC, VA) – Cybersecurity (zero-trust, NIST 800-53/171, FISMA, CMMC) – Enterprise IT Operations & Maintenance (cloud ops, DevSecOps, service desk) – Data management/analytics/AI (FHIR, HL7, data lakes, ETL) Proven federal proposal experience – must provide before-and-after writing samples (SME bullets → your final narrative) Ability to write in plain, active-voice, APMP-style language Experience with bolthires Word styles/templates, and basic proposal graphics concepts U.S.
citizenship Strongly Preferred: Current or recent experience at a small or emerging 8(a)/SDVOSB federal contractor Prior career at a large systems integrator or proposal shop (Leidos, GDIT, Booz Allen, Accenture Federal, OST Global, Red Team, etc.) Direct success supporting SDVOSB or 8(a) set-aside pursuits APMP certification (Foundation or Practitioner) Veteran status (strong preference – we are a proud SDVOSB) Apply tot his job
