As a key member of our Diversity & Access team, you will play a vital role in attracting and educating the next generation of outstanding computer scientists and engineers. This temporary 9-month position offers a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact, work with a diverse population, and enjoy a competitive salary range of $5,463 - $5,681 per month, along with generous benefits and work-life programs.
As an Undergraduate Recruiter, you will travel throughout Washington State to recruit incoming direct-to-major and transfer students, counsel prospective students and their families, and co-plan events to promote the Allen School's undergraduate programs. You will also have the opportunity to work with a talented team of professionals who are passionate about diversity, equity, and inclusion, and who are committed to creating a welcoming community for students from all backgrounds.
Responsibilities:
- Travel to high schools, community colleges, and community events to represent the Allen School and recruit prospective students
- Counsel prospective students and their families about opportunities available at the University of Washington and the Allen School
- Co-plan events, such as information sessions and college fairs, to promote the Allen School's undergraduate programs
- Collaborate with the Admissions team to review transfer applications and provide recommendations
- Develop and maintain relationships with high school counselors, community college advisors, and other stakeholders to promote the Allen School's programs
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Education, Counseling, STEM, or a related field
- 2-3 years of college admissions and/or outreach experience, or equivalent
- Ability to travel throughout Washington State and work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with diverse populations
- Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, and a passion for creating a welcoming community for students from all backgrounds
