Job Description
Jacobs is a company focused on solving critical problems for cities and environments. They are looking for a Jr. Chemical/ Process Engineer to join their Advanced Facilities Electronics Team in Portland, OR, where the role involves engineering tasks such as developing process designs and specifications while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team.
Responsibilities
- Work on state-of-the-art projects, implementing, modifying, and maintaining process designs
- Assist with the development of Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs), Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), and equipment specifications
- Develop flow diagrams, perform sizing calculations for pipe and equipment, and develop process specifications
- Assist activities ensuring that design and construction conform to functional specifications, recognized codes and standards, and customer requirements
- Utilize software such as PipeFlo, AFT Fathom, Bluebeam, and SmartPlant
- Manage time and responsibilities effectively while maintaining a high standard work product
Skills
- Master's degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering
- +1 - 2 years professional experience, preferably in semiconductor market, with exposure to manufacturing processes, process engineering and design activities
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel
- Working experience with Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs) and Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs)
- Experience with ASPEN, PipeFlo (Professional and Compressible), AFT Fathom, HTRI, WinGems, and/or SmartPlant
- Located within a commutable distance to the Jacobs Portland, OR office or client site with ability to work in person 3+ days per week
- Engineer In Training (EIT) Certificate or on track to obtain
- Experience with Python & SQL
