They are seeking a Junior Electrical & Controls Designer to support energy systems projects, helping to produce design deliverables while collaborating with multidisciplinary experts. Responsibilities Support the review of P&IDs and project markups, helping translate them into accurate electrical drawings and specifications Assist with electrical drawing packages for approval, bid, and construction (e.g., single‑line diagrams, basic schematics, lighting layouts, and control details) Apply established engineering and construction standards under guidance from senior designers/engineers Help mark up vendor package/skid drawings to align with project requirements and discipline coordination needs Contribute practical wiring and installation details to support constructability and field execution Participate in coordination with mechanical, process, civil, structural, and other teams to keep deliverables aligned Assist with requisitions, BOM reviews, and document control to help maintain high-quality project outputs Provide junior-level support during construction (e.g., responding to design questions, documenting changes, and escalating issues appropriately) Skills A technical diploma in Electrical Engineering Technology (or a related discipline) from a recognized post‑secondary institution 0–3 years of electrical drafting/design experience (including co‑op, internship, or entry‑level consulting/EPC exposure) Working knowledge of AutoCAD; interest or exposure to 3D CADD tools is a plus Comfort working in a fast‑paced, multidisciplinary environment with attention to detail and a willingness to learn A genuine interest in projects supporting decarbonization, climate adaptation, and resilient energy systems Exposure to heavy industrial facilities (oil & gas, gas compression, processing facilities, or energy transition projects) is an asset, not a requirement Benefits Flexible work, real balance Health and Safety is a core paramount value of WSP WSP welcomes and encourages applications from people with disabilities.
